Rowntrees RUFC beaten by York thirds in North Yorkshire Cup
ROWNTREES RUFC were beaten 18-12 by York thirds at Clifton Park in the North Yorkshire Cup.
’Trees were starved of the ball for half an hour and trailed 8-0 before they made their way down field and applied enough pressure to win two penalties, both kicked by Tommy Atkinson.
Another Atkinson penalty at the start of the second half put the visitors in front.
York hit back with a try and a penalty and although Atkinson landed a penalty, some superb tackling from both sides prevented any further score.
