YORK RI were blown away 52-7 at Wetherby in Yorkshire Four.
RI were unable to field their first-choice backs and Wetherby took advantage to race into a 14-0 lead.
The visitors were given a glimmer of hope when Alexis Evrat made some storming runs and Rob Cleminson touched down for a try and Baptiste Briu added the goal.
However, that hope was shortlived as the home backs tore holes in the visitors’ defence to lead 31-7 at the interval.
The RI forwards dictated the game for much of the second half, which was scoreless for 35 minutes before a couple of stray kicks let Wetherby in again.
