Away win for Rowntree RUFC
ROWNTREE RUFC staved off a comeback from Old Modernians seconds to claim a 33-31 away win.
Dropped passes cost ’Trees at least three tries in the early stages, but they did score three through Ben Morrison, John Thompson and Phil Mason, with Tom Atkinson converting all three.
Mods then got a lucky try before half-time and the teams traded tries in the second half, with Phil Thompson crashing over and full-back Nick Thompson scooting over. Atkinson converted one.
Mods then came back with three tries in the final quarter, but ’Trees managed to hang on.
