IT is a losing streak that now runs to five games. But what better place for York RUFC to get back to winning ways than in a national cup competition?
The Clifton Parkers, who were pegged back by Selby in the quarter-final of the Yorkshire Shield in midweek when a 17-0 lead became a 34-24 defeat, go to Consett for a pool game in the Northern Division Intermediate Cup.
The Durham and Northumberland One side are fifth in their division but put 50 points on Gosforth last weekend and have only lost once on their home patch – to former North One East side Durham City.
With convincing victories in their last three games, they will be confident of turning over the visitors but York will not need to do much more to finally get back to winning ways.
York RI, who recorded another victory when beating Hessle 14-10 last week, go to Mossborough in Yorkshire Four.
