ROWNTREES RUFC stormed to a 57-7 victory at Burley seconds.
The York side had a dream start when captain Dave Harder seized on a loose pass to race 50 yards for the opener.
Although Burley came back to go 7-5 in front, it was the last time they got anywhere near the ‘Trees line. Harder scored two more tries from loose balls to complete his hat-trick in the first 20 minutes.
Ian Henderson then raced in before Greg Neil crashed over and, with Harder converting three, ’Trees led 31-7 at the break.
In the second half, Harder scored a seven-pointer but then had to limp off.
However, ’Trees were in full flow and further tries were scored by Tommy Wyles, converted by Jack Daniels, Ian Henderson, converted by John Thompson, and Alex Robertshaw.
