Penalty blow for Rowntrees RUFC
A LATE penalty denied Rowntrees RUFC as they lost 15-13 to a strong visiting Castleford third team.
Trees started well with a penalty from the returning Tommy Atkinson. With both sides defending superbly, Cas forced their way over for a converted try on 30 minutes.
However, Trees responded and were rewarded with a try on half-time from Chris Todd, with Atkinson converting.
Cas added a try midway through the second half, but Trees seemed to have won it with another Atkinson penalty before a late long-range effort from Cas.
