Nestle Rowntree RUFC lost 19-10 at home to a youthful Old Otliensians third team in a game where both sides made numerous errors in the windy conditions.
Trees went ahead when prop Ian Leadbeater drove over but the visitors seized on Nestle's errors to score three tries and led 19-5 by early in the second half.
No 8 Geoff Howard worked hard to get his side back in the game with some powerful runs but missed the support of Tree's four strongest running forwards who were out due to injury.
Centre Chris Moores scored a try with ten minutes left and they finished the rest of the game pounding the visitors try line but were kept out by determined defences.
