MALTON and Norton RUFC will have a dress rehearsal for their EDF Senior Vase sixth round clash when they travel to Bradford Salem in Yorkshire One tomorrow.

The two sides will meet at Salem in the Vase in a fortnight, but Malt have the chance to draw first blood and are in confident mood.

After last week's cup triumph over league leaders Pontefract, Malton feel capable of reversing the 22-20 defeat they suffered to Bradford at The Gannock last October.

Salem are currently in third place in Yorkshire One, while Malt are beginning to show signs of form in the light of the Pontefract win and victory against Bridlington.

There's only one change to the side which won last week. Vice captain Andy Mitchell takes his place at blind side flanker in place of James Machin, who drops to the bench.

York, following a close defeat at Ilkley a fortnight ago, will look to renew their Yorkshire One title charge when they entertain Sandal at Clifton Park.

Lying in second place, just a point behind leaders Pontefract, York are forced to make a couple of changes to the XV which has performed so strongly in recent weeks.

Full-back Neil McClure is unavailable so the reliable Tom Copeland steps in and takes over the kicking duties. Kiwi centre Alexis Time, a substitute in the last two matches, gets his chance at the expense of Rob Taylor.

The Clifton Parkers start with yet another half-back combination as fly-half Mike Ford lines up with third team scrum-half Chris Preen, who takes over for the unavailable James Arkle and Matt Hargreaves.

Sandal have struggled in Yorkshire One, and have lost their last two outings, but the West Yorkshire side can still turn on the style against the top teams - typified in their 17-12 win against Bradford Salem - and York will need be at their best to pick up a vital two points.

Pocklington travel to Sandhill Lane for a mouth-watering Yorkshire Two derby with Selby. Despite losing their last two games, Selby still have a four-point cushion at the top of the table and will want to get back to winning ways.

Pock, on the other hand, still have a chance of promotion. When the two sides met at Percy Road in October, the result was in the balance until the final whistle before Selby took the spoils 19-13.

Pocklington again have a number of players who will undertake fitness tests before deciding, but hope to have Stewart Rowley back.

Struggling York RI have virtually a full squad to choose from as they entertain Ripon in Yorkshire Two. Only John Alexander is a doubt for the New Lane men, who have targeted this match as their chance to get their first win of the season.
