IN-FORM Malton & Norton RUFC stretched their winning sequence to eight Yorkshire One matches after an arm wrestle with derby rivals York.
The Ryedale side eventually triumphed 24-13 at Clifton Park, but had to wait until late in the second halff to break the home side's resistance.
The teams cancelled each other out in the first 20 minutes before trading penalties, George Davis hitting the mark for York and Zwelakhe Sodladla for Malton two minutes later.
York second row Dave Bates and Malton number eight Mark Bradshaw were sin-binned and then Malt lost another player to a yellow card as the half ended 3-3.
The second period started at a frantic pace, and Malton grabbed the first try after a series of pick and drives, with skipper Sam Triffitt touching down and Ian Cooke converting.
York responded when Davis made a break and released Hugh Nicholson for a try out wide.
York's Marcus Britland was then sin-binned and Malt took advantage to add two tries in ten minutes to lead 24-8.
For the first, the pack drove forward and substitute wing George Harrison crashed over for Cooke to convert.
It was all Malton now and three minutes later they were again over the line, but could not ground the ball. From the scrum, a long pass found wing Ben Woodhouse and he crossed, with Cooke again adding the extras.
As the game drew to a close, York drove Daz Rutherford over the line.
Selby are still seeking their first win over Old Brodleians since 2002 after losing 24-16 to Yorkshire One's bottom side at Sandhill Lane.
The Swans were even denied a losing bonus point with the last kick of the game as Brodleians centre Danny Wood slotted a penalty.
Josh Cruise kicked Selby into a tenth minute lead, but Wood levelled with a penalty on 24 minutes and a Rob Jennings try made it 8-3 to the visitors.
Cruise kicked further penalties on 32 and 37 minutes, but Brods led 11-9 at the break after Wood's second successful kick.
The second half started badly for Selby as Brods increased their lead with a 46th-minute try from second row Sterling Ross, converted by Wood.
Hooker Duncan Hardy crashed over for a well-deserved Selby try and Cruise kicked an excellent conversion to bring Selby back to within two points.
However, Wood added two more penalties to deny the hosts their losing bonus point.
