A SUPERB start brought Nestlé Rowntree RUFC a 17-10 victory at Northallerton thirds.

After missing nearly all the season with injury, veteran centre Harry Seagrave celebrated his return with a try after just two minutes.

Winger Sean Harvey kicked through to score shortly afterwards, and Nestlé were ten points up in as many minutes.

Northallerton fought back with their heavier pack causing Trees problems in scrums and their extra pace on the flanks saw their winger touch down on the stroke of half-time.

Nestlé full-back Andy Ramsay was called upon to make two try-saving tackles before centre Chris Moores took advantage of a lucky bounce to extend their lead with a converted try.

Trees should have made the game safe but winger John Shinn dropped the ball with the line at his mercy and Northallerton galloped away for a score despite a great chase from Shinn which almost recovered his error.
