DONCASTER swept to victory in rugby union's Yorkshire Cup final after dominating Wharfedale 31-6 at Clifton Park, the home of York RUFC.
Wharfedale soaked up relentess pressure until Donny winger Paul Bailey broke the deadlock by diving over in the corner in the 28th minute for the game's opening score.
Dale responded through a Mark Bedworth penalty but Doncaster hit back with two quick tries, from scrum-half Dave Scully and centre John Cannon, to take a 17-3 lead into the break.
Bedworth slotted a second penalty seven minutes after the break to reduce the deficit but Tom Davis and Mark Woodrow crossed for Doncaster to secure the National League One outfit the trophy.
