Pocklington let themselves down as they lost 18-15 at lowly Goole in Yorkshire Two.
Pock turned in an error-strewn display against a side battling relegation and, even when they went in front with five minutes to go, they were unable to close the game down.
Goole kicked a penalty with their first attack to take the lead, but Pock's man of the match Jack Holbrough sparked an excellent back move before full-back Steve Shephard raced under the posts for Nick Bennett to convert.
Bennett added three points, while a Goole kick hit a post and went in and the hosts trailed 10-6 at the interval.
The home side added a converted try but, with five minutes to go, Pocklington number eight Matt Atkinson forced his way over.
That ought to have been enough, but Pocklington made a mess of the kick off and presented Goole with the crucial try.
