SELBY RUFC moved to within three points of Yorkshire One leaders Sandal with a 25-7 victory over Keighley at Sandhill Lane.
The hosts fielded their strongest line-up of the season and they took full advantage.
A wild challenge on Shaun Austerfield handed an easy penalty chance to Dan Porter, but also resulted in the centre leaving the field.
A reshuffle followed and Selby were rewarded when Sam Weller finished off a move started by inspirational skipper Andy Bennett.
A half-time lead of 8-0 looked too slender, but Selby started the second period strongly.
A superb passage of play, involving forwards and backs, ended with a classy long pass from Porter being fed on to Martin Protheroe to finish.
Weller then bagged a second try and Porter converted.
Further injuries disrupted Selby's rhythm and the disruption allowed the Keighley forwards back into the game.
From a quick penalty in the Selby 22, the visitors claimed a converted try.
The Swans, though, hit back when Matt Smith took a quick tap, caught everyone napping and cantered in for the final score.
Jason Cicero, back after a long injury lay-off was named the man of the match.
Injuries to Austerfield, Jamie Berry and Protheroe have left Selby coach Diccon Edwards with plenty to ponder ahead of next week's trip to Sandal.
Meanwhile, fellow Yorkshire One side were beaten 29-3 by North 2 East high-fliers Driffield in a friendly at The Gannock.
Half-backs Ed Pang and David Webster combined well for a Malt side who took the game to Driffield in the opening exchanges and kept them pinned in their own half of the pitch.
The pressure told when Driffield were penalised for holding onto the ball after a tackle and Matt Williams kicked a penalty in front of the posts.
Driffield hit back to score three tries before half-time.
The second half again saw Malton on the attack early on, but Driffield sealed the win with two further tries.
