ANOTHER long bus trip awaits York RUFC in North 2 East as they travel to Northumberland to take on Morpeth needing to pick up two precious points.

The Clifton Parkers, fresh from a week off, face a Morpeth outfit comfortably in mid-table with six wins from 13 matches this season. The same cannot be said for York, who are second bottom and two points adrift of fellow strugglers Carlisle.

With the bottom two facing relegation in April, it is important York can keep in touch and they are hoping the XV taking the field tomorrow can recover from successive defeats to Driffield and West Hartlepool.

It is a stable side which is tasked with taking the game to Morpeth, but Oli Councell comes in at flanker for the missing Andy Kay.

York's front three of Mickey Pellowe, Jon Sharpe and Darren Rutherford will hope to put the Clifton Parkers on the front foot while Mike Bunting, who has made the full-back jersey his own in the absence of Neil McClure, will be relied upon to put in another impressive performance.

There's a crunch clash in Yorkshire One as Selby go to table-topping Sandal. The Sandhill Laners closed the gap at the summit with a 25-7 win over Keighley last time out and are just a point behind Sandal, albeit having played a game more.

It is a tough ask for Selby to win in West Yorkshire but, with Dan Porter at stand-off and a dynamic back line including Ben Lunt and Sam Weller, they will feel they have a chance.

Sandal suffered only their second defeat of the campaign last weekend when they fell to Horden in the EDF Senior Vase, proving they are not infallible.

But they will want to get back to winning ways in front of their own supporters.

Pocklington take a tough trip to South Yorkshire to meet Knottingley in Yorkshire Two.

They hope to have Henry Mitchell, Alex Stuart and John Tilley, all missing last week, back in action, while teenager Jack Holbrough keeps his place after making an impressive debut at Goole.

When the sides met at Percy Road in October, Pocklington won 24-12 with something to spare, but Knottingley have got players back from injury and have seen their results improve in recent weeks.

Malton and Norton are at Huddersfield YMCA in Yorkshire One, while York RI travel to Thornensians in Yorkshire Three.
