UNSTOPPABLE Malton & Norton RUFC were finally beaten on Saturday – by the weather.

The runaway Yorkshire One leaders were stopped in their tracks after 11 straight victories as their clash with Knottingley at The Gannock was postponed by snow.

York’s home game against Castleford went the same way with the Clifton Park pitch under a blanket of snow, while conditions at Sandhill Lane put paid to Selby’s home fixture with Heath.

With second-placed Pocklington seeing their trip to Leodiensians postponed, leaders Huddersfield YMCA took the chance to move six points clear at the top of Yorkshire Two.

They beat visitors Roundhegians 25-10 in the only Northern Divisions game to go ahead.

York Railway Institute’s visit to Bramley Phoenix was off in Yorkshire Three, as was Nestlé Rowntree’s game at Sheffield Oaks in Yorkshire Five.
