POCKLINGTON RUFC’s move into refurbished dressing rooms has been delayed until the New Year.
The club were hoping to be in their new home in time for the traditional Boxing Day friendly between the club and Old Pocklingtonians, but because of the demands of the ice-cold weather British Gas were unable to complete their connection, so that will be done in mid-January.
The club’s Boxing Day reunion match was also KO’d by the weather, with the Percy Road pitch too frozen and dangerous even for a game of touch and pass.
Now the club have contacted Driffield RUFC with a view to staging a friendly this Sunday either at Pocklington or Driffield.
Said club spokesman Phil Gilbank: “We have not played for a month so we are desperate to get in some sort of competitive action.”
