RUTHLESS Ronnie O’Sullivan took barely 70 minutes to crush Robert Milkins in the UK Championship last night.
The Rocket raced to a 6-0 victory and will meet Stuart Bingham today, on his 38th birthday, in the quarter-finals.
O’Sullivan struck breaks of 76, 63, 93, 58, 67 and 57 in his most complete display of the tournament.
“I played some good stuff out there,” he said. “I didn’t leave him many chances and I am happy with my form in that match.”
On Bingham, whom he beat in the Champion of Champions event a couple of weeks ago, he said: “We had a good match at the World Championship and in the Champions. He is another player having a fantastic season.”
Birthday greetings, he added, were the last thing on his mind. “I want to go out and do a job. I appreciate I’ve got a big match.”
Neil Robertson, the world number one, was in similarly scintillating form as he disposed of Joe Perry 6-1.
