MARK DAVIS beat good friend Joe Perry following a tense final frame decider to bag a berth in the fourth round of the Coral UK Championship.
The match was nip and tuck throughout and the pair were tied at 38-38 in the decisive 11th frame but it was Davis who came through and nicked it to win 6-5.
Davis said: “It was an awful match. We just both struggled in that. I probably dragged Joe down in the end. I am trying my hardest. It has been a struggle all week. I can't believe I won. It was an absolute mystery.
"I am just delighted to get through and I will have to improve."
Today’s order of play: 1pm - Ricky Walden v Stuart Bingham; John Higgins v Anthony McGill. 7pm - Neil Robertson v Graeme Dott; Ding Junhui or James Cahill v Mark Davis.
