YORK cueman Ashley Hugill has exited the Betway UK Championship after this morning's first-round defeat to Anthony McGill.
The 23-year-old got off to the worst possible start, losing the first five frames of his first-to-six encounter at the Barbican.
The world number 116 did salvage some pride however, taking the next two frames and racking up a superb 105 break in the process.
Any thoughts of a thrilling comeback were extinguished by McGill in frame eight though, as the Scot knocked in a century break of his own to progress to round two.
