YORK City Ladies secured their first win since the departure of manager Chris Holloway.
A superb brace from Katie Astle helped York to leapfrog their opponents AFC Fylde, with City now in 11th position of the FA Women's National League division one north, having played less games than anyone else in the division.
The departure of manager Holloway spurred the Minsterbelles on to victory, with Dan Jackson taking charge.
Jackson was delighted with the work rate of his players, effusing to club media: "It was absolutely unbelievable.
"We set out and wanted to play our football, from the very first minute the girls put 100 per cent into that game, all the way up to the end.

"It was absolutely fantastic and I couldn't ask for any more from the girls.
"It's all about the three points, it's not about playing fantastic football, it's about getting the ball in the right areas and playing to the strengths of your players.
"I thought we did that terrifically today."
Fylde started quickly as Imogen Borrowdale was denied by a goal line clearance from Imani Todman, which would prove pivotal as City took the lead just seven minutes later.
Ocean Rolandsen did brilliantly inside the area to find Faye Single, whose deflected strike bobbled into the bath of Astle, with the attacker showing composure to slide an effort into the bottom corner.
It was almost two as Hannah Brierley was kept out by Skye Kirkham, before Becky Sidwell showed similar quality to parry wide from close-range.
The action continued in the second-half as excellent football from the Minsterbelles allowed Rolandsen the opportunity to strike on goal, but her effort went airborne.
Bowers Folan dinked an effort over Sidwell's bar before Astle was thwarted again by Kirkham.
A delivery from Kanisha mae Underdown caused carnage in the Fylde box with Rolandsen lurking, only to again be denied by a good clearance.
As the match entered stoppage time, York solidified a crucial three points as Astle found herself through one-on-one with Kirkham, and did brilliantly to curl a strike around the Coasters' goalkeeper and make it 2-0 with minutes remaining.
