National League rugby league matches could still be televised this season, despite Eurosport apparently pulling out of talks to provide live coverage.
Plans for Eurosport to show matches on a Thursday night - possibly including York City Knights in National League Two - have fallen through. It is believed the stumbling block concerns the Rugby Football League's main broadcast partner, Sky Sports, which was unhappy about the possibility of losing the National League play-off finals and the Northern Rail Cup final.
However, the RFL are thought to be discussing expanded coverage with Sky, which shows two Super League matches a week but have so far restricted their coverage of the National League to the key finals.
Meanwhile, the Knights are holding a meet the players' event at Next Generation, on Hull Road, tonight.
Fans can watch the first team's indoor training session ahead of Friday's friendly against Castleford, and meet the players in the bar/restaurant area afterwards. Training will start at about 6.30pm and players will be in the bar from about 8pm.
Entry is free to Next Generation members, and £2 for non-members, £1 of which will go to the charity Wellchild (Next Generation's charity of choice) with the other £1 going to the Knights Foundation, raising money to expand the club's community development programme.
