YORK City Knights are hoping to throw Scott Rhodes into the mix tomorrow night to go face-to-face with his old mucker Danny Brough.

Rhodes and Brough, both Scotland internationals, formed arguably the Knights' best-ever half-back partnership when they worked in tandem in 2003 and '04.

Brough, who has since won the Challenge Cup with Hull and played in Super League with the Black and Whites and Castleford, will captain a young Cas side at Huntington Stadium tomorrow, and there is a chance Rhodes might get on the field for York after missing the Knights' previous two pre-season friendlies.

The 26-year-old underwent a hernia operation in the closed season and is coming back to full fitness.

Boss Mick Cook said: "He's still not 100 per cent - he's still got a bit of scar tissue around the wound - but we might look to give him a run if he goes okay at training tonight."

Big Joe Helme is also set to make his first appearance of the year, while young Kyle Palmer, the new signing from York Acorn ARLC, is likely to make his full debut in the centres.

Jamaine Wray is fit again and will probably start at hooker after missing the Mark Cain testimonial due to illness.
