YORK City Knights winger Johnny Waldron will have to wait to learn how serious his knee injury is.

As reported by The Press on Saturday, Waldron had to be helped off the field during Friday night's pre-season friendly against Castleford.

He was set to go to hospital on Saturday but the swelling around the knee meant doctors would not have been able to properly assess the damage.

Knights boss Mick Cook said: "They wouldn't really be able to tell until the swelling's gone down. There's nothing broken but we think there might be some ligament damage."
