YORK’S LNER Community Stadium is gearing up to host the action-packed Betfred Championship Summer Bash for the first time this weekend.

All of the 14 Championship clubs are in action, with York Knights taking on runaway leaders Featherstone Rovers, who have 11 wins from as many games this season, in tonight’s (May 27) showpiece event at 7:30pm.

York Valkyrie, who currently sit atop the Betfred Women’s Super League, will also take to the field against Warrington Wolves tomorrow morning (May 28, 11:30am).

Here’s a guide to all the matchday information that you need to know ahead of the event.

Matchday information

The LNER Community Stadium is located at Monks Cross Vangarde Shopping Park on the outskirts of York.

There is ample choice of amenities for fans, with major supermarkets including Asda and Sainsbury’s close by, alongside a range of restaurants including Nando’s, Estabulo Rodizio Bar & Grill, Prezzo, Marks & Spencer, and Costa.

Tickets

Match tickets allow fans to watch all the matches on whichever day they are attending the Bash.

The stadium will operate a pass-out system, allowing fans to leave and come back into the stadium at any time.

Parking

400 car parking spaces are available for matchday users per day at a dedicated area within the Monks Cross Park and Ride – priced at £10 per vehicle.

Stewards will scan your ticket on arrival to the car park.

Accessible parking is also available, but is extremely limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Spaces can be booked by calling 01904 942232.

Public Transport

Monks Cross is served by a number of bus routes via the city’s Park and Ride services, with links to both the train station and the City centre.

The most frequent is the Service 9, which departs every 10 minutes from locations across York City centre - with the final bus scheduled to leave Monks Cross Park and Ride at 9:45pm.

Fans can also book taxis, though it is recommended that they do so in advance, with York Races also having a meeting today (May 27).

Fan Zones

Fans can find their club’s dedicated fan zone inside the stadium complex, which will be complete with player interviews, street food, bars and live music.

Drinks purchased inside the fan zone can only be consumed in the fan zone, with the same rule applying to all drinks bought from the Stadium Concessions stand. Food and drink concessions will be open throughout the weekend, with alcohol permitted to be consumed in stadium seats.

The Fan Zone will have access to a smoking area.

Fans are advised to bring only bags at A4 size or smaller, and to not bring excessive amounts of food or drink into the ground. You cannot bring alcohol into the Stadium in your matchday bags.
