YORK Knights head coach Andrew Henderson has welcomed back two York-born youngsters into his preliminary squad ahead of Saturday evening’s visit of Betfred Championship promotion-hopefuls Toulouse Olympique.

Both Wakefield Trinity loanee Oli Pratt and former Heworth and New Earswick All Blacks youngster Toby Warren are in contention to feature for the Knights, the latter of whom is in line for his second York debut after returning to the club on loan from Betfred Super League outfit Leeds Rhinos until the end of the season earlier today.

Their returns coincide with a double injury blow to two of the Knights’ more experienced players, with captain Chris Clarkson and the versatile James Cunningham both injured in their outstanding 10-24 victory at London Broncos last weekend.

Clarkson was withdrawn a quarter of an hour into the contest after damaging his rib cartilage, whilst Cunningham was knocked out in a tackle during the second half and is undergoing the subsequent relevant Head Injury Assessment protocols.

Influential Welsh forward Bailey Antrobus is also awaiting news on a toe injury sustained during York’s AB Sundecks 1895 Cup Semi Final defeat to Batley Bulldogs a fortnight ago, though is again included in the 21-man squad.

The Knights will be looking to claim their fifth consecutive Championship victory against Toulouse at the LNER Community Stadium on Saturday evening (6pm) and secure their first win against the French giants since 2013 in the process.

York Knights' Preliminary Squad: Antrobus, Bass, Brown, Dee, Field, Fitzsimmons, Harrison, Harris, Hingano, Jubb, Kirmond, Michael, Pratt, Price, Santi, Ta'ai, Teanby, Thompson, Towse, Ward, Warren.
