PAULI Pauli has joined Doncaster on a two-year deal following his departure from York Knights last week.
The destructive forward is the latest in a range of impressive signings for the South Yorkshire club following their promotion from Betfred League One at the end of the season.
Former Leeds Rhinos and Featherstone Rovers centre Luke Briscoe has made the move to the Eco-Power Stadium for 2024, as has Reece Lyne after a decade with Wakefield Trinity in the Betfred Super League.
The Knights announced last week that Pauli had departed the club to take up an opportunity elsewhere, having contributed two tries in 25 appearances during his stay in the city.
An ACL injury in August 2022 limited the fan favourite to just five appearances from among the interchanges under new head coach Andrew Henderson as the Knights defied the odds to claim the final Play-off place with victory at Barrow Raiders on the final day of the regular season.
But he will be hoping to return to his best with the Dons and make his mark on the division once again.
“The signings Doncaster have made along with myself add a lot of experience which will be very important for the coming season,” the former Parramatta Eels and Newcastle Knights front-rower told his new club.
“I’ve got quite a lot of games under my belt and have played a number of Championship games.
“It is a lot different to playing in the NRL or Super League down here in the Championship. There’s a lot of contact, and having size in your squad makes a big difference. Having a bit of size behind you is going to help you.
“I haven’t met a lot of the guys yet, but I know that they’re good people and I can’t wait to get started.”
