York City Knights will embark on life in the Co-operative Championship with a new look.

The Huntington Stadium outfit have unveiled their redesigned home and away strips for 2011, with the home kit sponsored by Newitts.com and the away shirt backed by Castles UK Ltd.

The new shirts and leisure range will be on sale for the first time at next month’s York City Knights Foundation Luxury Shopping Knight.

Supporters can claim a free shirt if they buy a season ticket before the end of the month.

Knights general manager Ian Wilson has been buoyed by the backing from local businesses.

He said: “We are delighted Newitts.com have decided to sponsor the club again. They have been a major company in York for over 100 years and we are extremely grateful for their support.

“Congratulations to David Baldwin and all at Castles UK Ltd, who were picked out of the hat from our ‘Brand for a Grand’ sponsors and thanks to all of the other sponsors, whose support is very much appreciated.”

The club’s new shirts, training kit and leisure wear for 2011 are manufactured by Yorkshire-based Centurion, whose sales and marketing director is York-born Neil Jennings.

The Knights Foundation Luxury Shopping Knight will be held in Bar 13 at Huntington Stadium on Wednesday, November 17, from 3pm.

As well as Knights merchandise, there will be a number of other stalls selling items including jewellery, cosmetics, Christmas cards and festive treats.

Season tickets are priced at £140 (standing) and £160 (seating) for adults, or £99 (standing) and £120 (seating) for concessions.

Under-16s season tickets are £25 (standing) and £30 (seating), but do not include an away shirt. They do, however, include both home and away fixtures.
