YORK City Knights reserves gave arguably their worst performance of the season when losing 42-18 at Keighley.
Mick Ramsden’s men trailed only 22-18 at half-time of last night’s match – with tries by Dan Mole, who added three conversions, Lee Waterman and Jack Law - but the hosts went away with the game thereafter.
Brett Waller, Ed Smith and Paul Stamp all pulled out of the side before kick-off, with Waller and Smith promoted to tonight’s first-team squad, and niggling injuries to Joe Hemmings (knee), Jack Stearman ankle) and Brett Turner (hip) did not help. Youngster Giles Smith also lacked match fitness.
But Ramsden said: “I hate to say it but there was a lack of commitment from a few players. We didn’t work as a team or to the game plan.”
