York City Knights are urging supporters to book their Carnegie Challenge Cup final tickets through the club.

The quarter-finals of the cup are being staged this weekend and the final is scheduled for Wembley on Saturday, August 27.

A Knights spokesman said: “Supporters are reminded to encourage anyone who is planning on attending the 2011 Carnegie Challenge Cup final at Wembley to book their tickets through York City Knights.

“The club have tickets available for which we keep £13 from each ticket sold.

“With the standard of teams still in the competition, this year’s final looks set to be an outstanding game, so please support the club if you are planning to attend.”

Meanwhile, Knights under-18s coach Jack Stearman praised his side’s team spirit after they beat Leigh 34-26.

The Knights’ try scorers were Callum Hannigan (2), Liam Cashmore, Jack Townend, debutant Gareth Smith and Luke Tomlinson. Lewis Colrein kicked four conversions and a penalty on his York debut.

The U18s are next in action at home to Hunslet on Thursday (7.30pm).

• Hunslet Hawks player-coach Paul March has been banned for two matches for using foul and abusive language to a touch-judge.

The incident came after the former York City Knights player-coach was sin-binned in the 15th minute of the Championship match at Featherstone Rovers on July 10.

March, who pleaded not guilty to the Grade ‘B’ offence, was also fined £50 by the Rugby Football League disciplinary panel.

Workington Town player Karl Olstrum was suspended for two matches, as was Whitehaven’s Tyrone Dalton.
