Culinary Cultures: The Food Service Industry.

Whether it’s a speedy drive through your local KFC or fine dining cuisine, every business follows a unique strategy for delivering customer service.

So much goes on behind the scenes that the average consumer may not think about; here, we will dive into the celebrations of customer care behind a range of dining establishments.

Let’s start big, London.

Home to Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, home to The Fat Duck.

Well, give or take 30 miles.

Three-star status, World’s 50 Best voted Best Restaurant, the list goes on.

The Fat Duck embarks on a journey, where customers are certainly put through their paces.

Pastry Chef, Clement Barbin, in stage at The Fat Duck stated: “The Fat Duck is like a very accurate clock, where all the chefs are like cogs that play a precise individual role, from mise en place to plating”.

Probably the most exciting aspect of the experience The Fat Duck has to offer is their famous floating dessert, Counting Sheep.

Yes, you heard correctly, floating.

The dish sets the scene with a levitating pillow a couple inches above a cloud-like platter.

Upon closer inspection, there sits a cushion of malted meringue, dripping with milk ice cream.

It’s a miracle customers don’t drift off right there and then!

Although the prices may seem daunting to potential guests, The Fat Duck can indulge them in a gourmet adventure, where some may say it is wholeheartedly worth every penny.

Our next stop is a long, long way away, over 4000 miles away.

We arrive in Houston, Texas.

Whether you’re soaring to NASA’s Johnson Space Centre or swinging straight into the Astro’s baseball game, Houston is the place to be for all things culture, diversity, and let’s not forget, cuisine!

Today’s menu features JINYA Ramen Bar – Heights Waterworks.

What’s special about this place delves further than their unique slow-cooked approach to preparing ramen or their beautiful contemporary Japanese interior.

Staff at JINYA all band together in sync to greet and send off their customers in Japanese; what an incredibly warm welcome to newcomers and regulars!

Attentiveness is one of their most outstanding attributes, making a profound effort to create an unforgettable atmosphere every meal.

If only JINYA could come to the UK! Aren’t the 60 locations across America and Canada blessed?

So, what does this mean for the local community of The York Press?

It’s all well and good these places thriving globally, but don’t we deserve a little something special?

Well, you’re in luck, as our journey ends at none other than Cleethorpes’ famous Beyoglu 25 Turkish Restaurant!

The classy decoration inside and attentive service asserts the restaurant’s friendly reputation.
Inside, customers are able to order an array of Turkish dishes, from succulent starters to divine desserts.

Also, there’s the opportunity to have warm seeded bread, and 2 dips free of charge!

The open kitchen plan allows visitors to be immersed in the fine precision behind each meal; what a treat.

In conclusion, it’s safe to say whatever corner of the world you find yourself in, you won’t go short of a good meal and excellent service.

So, where to next?
